Report: US allots billions for nuclear weapons

28 Dec 2010 The United States has allocated billions of dollars to its nuclear weapons complex, despite agreeing to the New START treaty which demands a reduction of nuclear warheads. According to Newsweek, US President Barack Obama's administration has earmarked 84.5 billion dollars for modernizing America's nuclear arsenal over the next decade. That is an increase of at least 20 percent compared to money spent on nuclear laboratories during Obama's predecessor George W. Bush's tenure.

The machine churns without us. It doesn't even matter if we are with them or not. I am powerless. I live in an empire and I am powerless to its actions. I live today only to give a hug, say a kind word, do someone some good somehow if I may. That's it. This empire marches on regardless of my non-consent or a million people's non-consent. Can you even dare to imagine what the world would be like if our government was willing to buy all the nurturing care the people had to offer and to give....how healthy, wealthy, secure and abundant we'd all be and feel. I can barely find the energy to dare the dream anymore. Yet, at moments, I do imagine it...and then a deluge of tears follows. I guess thats the danger in dreaming. It hurts to reface reality...

How many planets can we obliterate now?

Back in the late sixties we had enough nukes to totally destroy 17 planets like earth.

Apparently that wasn't enough.

So....how many planets the size of earth could we totally obliterate now? A hundred? A thousand?

Our defense department is a capitalist's wet dream. Imagine if you could manufacture something that was totally useless, that nobody wanted, and our government was willing to buy all you could make at any price you asked.

How nice of Germany to allow us to keep some over there. Did we pay for the privilege, or did we act like we were doing you guys a favor?

Probably a NATO obligation--you're either with us, or you're with those other terrorists, the ones who don't have thousands of nukes and have never nuked anybody.
